Grilling and Cooking Safely
- This demonstration is being done by The Grilling Store (Durham, NC).  Cooking fires are the leading cause of home fires, and the NFPA has many tips for kitchen and grill safety, including fact sheets on cooking, grilling, turkey frying and working safely with propane.  Even microwave ovens can be a hazard in the kitchen.

****CANCELLED - due to a burning ban, it was decided (on the morning of October 16) to cancel this event.  We apologize for the last-minute notice of this change in the schedule****

Working Safely in a Lab - PSNC Energy will provide this demonstration on working safely in labs, particularly when handling fuels, such as the natural gas used in Duke labs .  This demonstration will also count as your annual fire safety training.

October 13 - Safety Fair and Bike Rodeo - 10am - 12pm - Fire Extinguisher Training  This safety fair/bike rodeo will take place at the Teer House (4019 North Roxboro Rd in Durham) and is being sponsored by Duke's Office of Patient/Family and Community Education and the Durham Police Department.  For more information on the fair, call the Teer House at 919-477-2644.
