OESO Continues to Expand The Battery and Cell Phone Recycling Program by Adding More Collection Containers on Campus

OESO is continuing to have success with the battery and cell phone recycling program that was started in April 2006. We have now collected over 4,750 pounds of batteries and cell phones. Examples of items accepted for recycling include: all types of rechargeable batteries, cell phones, and alkaline batteries. The number of collection sites continues to grow, with more than 20 locations around campus. Please check the list of locations to find the one closest to you. The type of collection container may vary, but all will be marked with battery and cell phone recycling posters.

Duke's Environmental Management System (EMS) is a systematic process for moving the university from regulatory compliance to environmental stewardship and sustainability.
