Operating Suite Electrocautery and Laser Smoke Survey

This time-limited survey, which was jointly sponsored by the Association of periOperative Registered Nurses (AORN) and Duke University's Laser Safety Program, is now CLOSED. The purpose of the survey was to determine how perioperative services personnel address the safety and aesthetics concerns around smoke created by surgical lasers and electrosurgical/electrocautery devices.
The data obtained from this survey is being reviewed. The results of our analysis will appear in a future issue of the AORN Journal.
