COVID-19/SARS-CoV-2 Research

Registering and Receiving Approval

OESO must review all studies that involve the collection or use of COVID-19 specimens. This includes COVID patient samples and animal specimens from animals inoculated with SARS-CoV-2. This also includes COVID research that you propose with collaborators. This work must be registered and approved by the Dean's Office through https://myresearchpath.duke.edu/ at the COVID Research Dashboard via https://mrh.duke.edu/my_research_home_portal/covid19.

When registering in RedCap, review the SARS-CoV-2 Biosafety Guidelines and submit a BSL2 (with enhancements) SOP for the work using this template. Include all workers (and their unique ID number) handling the specimens on the SOP signature page. You may also send the SOP directly to OESO-Biological Safety Division.
